The Butterfly is a 9,800 m² office building, located in Athens, which was certified with LEED v4 for Building Design & Construction – Core & Shell at Gold level in 2019.

The previously abandoned building was converted to a new renovated office building, including an addition, and is located within a residential area in a suburb of Athens. Ensuring the seamless integration of the project into the surrounding urban context stood paramount, driving the creation of expanded vegetated areas at both ground and roof levels. This deliberate approach not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also fosters biodiversity and mitigates the urban heat island effect.

Moreover, prioritizing optimized indoor conditions, coupled with efficient energy and water systems, has yielded a holistically sustainable asset. By balancing energy efficiency with the promotion of a healthy indoor environment, the project sets a new standard for sustainable development.
