Zoia Amalias is a 2,500 m² building, located at Amalias Avenue, Athens which was certified with LEED v4 for Building Design & Construction – Core & Shell at Silver level in 2023.

The renovation of the Zoia Amalias building was a transformative project aimed at revitalizing a building which was abandoned for more than a decade thus contributing to the broader urban regeneration of a historic district as well as the extension of its lifespan. Through collaborative efforts the Project team successfully upgraded the building to meet LEED requirements, ensuring high performance in areas such as energy use, water efficiency, and indoor environmental quality.

This achievement highlights the importance of integrating sustainable practices in urban redevelopment, demonstrating that even abandoned buildings can be brought back to life in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. The Project not only enhances the aesthetic and functional value of the historic district but also serves as a model for sustainable urban regeneration encouraging similar efforts.
