SNF University Pediatric Hospital of Thessaloniki
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) University Pediatric Hospital of Thessaloniki, due to be delivered to the Greek State in 2027, will represent a key advancement in the provision of children’s health care in Greece. As the country’s first, dedicated children’s hospital outside Athens, it will provide secondary pediatric services for the greater Thessaloniki area and tertiary level pediatric care for all Northern Greece, while enhancing the network of health care services available to children and adolescents throughout Greece. At the same time, it will act as a central hub for pediatric education and training, driving innovation and excellence in medical practice, research, and education. The Project extends over two plots, with overground and underground connections.
The Project has been pursuing LEED at Platinum level with aspirations to be zero-carbon ready thanks to the implementation of dedicated framework which has been developed after a memorandum of understanding among SNF, USGBC and GBCI with the goal of piloting a framework to recognize newly constructed buildings that meet requirements to operate as zero-carbon facilities.
