Albatros
Albatros, a 10,000 m² building located in Athens, was certified with LEED v4 for Building Design & Construction – Core and Shell at Gold level in 2025.
The project exemplifies sustainable urban redevelopment through the adaptive reuse of an existing structure, reducing embodied carbon and minimizing construction-related emissions. Albatros integrates advanced strategies for energy efficiency, high indoor environmental quality, and resource conservation. High-performance systems and building envelope enhancements optimize thermal comfort and energy consumption, while the incorporation of natural light and enhanced ventilation improves indoor air quality and occupant wellbeing. The redevelopment also prioritizes waste reduction and material efficiency throughout construction. Albatros demonstrates that high-performance design and operational efficiency can coexist with a human-centered work environment, setting a benchmark for future adaptive reuse projects in Athens.
