The demand for green buildings in Greece is rising exponentially aligning with the global trends of real estate. As of today, assets with a GFA exceeding 1,000,000 m2 have pursued sustainability certification in Greece using the most robust international rating system, LEED. Meeting ESG goals, gaining a competitive edge, attracting tenants and managing performance are some of the most commonly reported benefits. The local green building movement is maturing, and a deeper understanding of the ‘triple bottom line’ value of green buildings is emerging, shifting the emphasis from ‘profit to ‘people’ and ‘planet’.
