Charalampos Giannikopoulos, MD DCarbon | Sustainability Consulting participated on March 5th, 2025 in Prodexpo North in Thessaloniki and shared his perspective on future sustainability steps in the built environment.

He addressed the performance gap between design and actual operation, advocating for whole-life building approaches. As Charalampos mentioned “we must remain committed and not be swayed by temporary trends that jeopardize the climate priorities.” He noted that embodied carbon will soon be equally valued as energy efficiency, becoming a key differentiator and value creator for our assets. This challenge impacts the entire real estate sector and reveals the need for leaders to take granular steps immediately.
