GBCI Europe Circle 2024 in Athens

Now that the dust has settled after Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) Circle 2024 which took place in Athens on April 17-19th and the incredible value of the discussions is truly sinking in, we wanted to share some of the highlights that resonated most with us:

    (i) The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Case discussion among Peter Templeton, President & CEO, U.S. Green Building Council, Panos Papoulias, COO, SNF and Olaf de Nooyer, Associate Architect, RPBW Renzo Piano Building Workshop which was moderated by Charalampos Giannikopoulos, MD, DCarbon  highlighted the role of sustainability in signaling non-negotiable ethos in the built environment and the community. Through projects like the SNFCC and the SNFGHI Hospitals we’re witnessing today a profound shift in our values and strategies to cope with climate change.

(ii) The tour at PRODEA Investments Headquarters certified with WELL and LEED was a significant moment for our Team. Led by Nikolaos Gkonis, PhD, Head of ESG, Prodea Investments and guided by Panagiotis Paliouras, Senior Sustainability Consultant, DCarbon it exemplified the power of collaborative expertise and strong partnerships in achieving remarkable outcomes. It reinforced the notion that excellence in sustainability requires collective effort and shared vision.

(iii) The fact that Circle took place in Athens is a testament to the remarkable evolution of the green building movement in Greece. We are immensely proud to have played a role in this progression, and it speaks volumes about our company’s unwavering commitment to accelerating sustainability.

In closing, the journey from Circle 2024 in Athens has left an indelible mark on our commitment to finding ways for the world to tread more lightly on the planet.
